  • We assembled??the hardware and wrote 90% of the software??that runs this display nearly??from scratch.
  • The new RGB TV Board has 1800 pixels. Every pixel is made up of 3 mini lights (red/green/blue), so in total there are 5400 lights with the RGB TV alone!
  • This display uses around 3600 feet of extension cords.
  • We built the RGB TV ourselves from scratch, just like the Drummer Boy.
  • This display has 104 plugs/circuits. That’s almost double the number of plugs an??entire average house has!
  • There are 7 dedicated computers used to run the show, that are the??size of a credit card.
  • There is about??27,500 Traditional LED Christmas Lights in this display. That means there is more than a light per person for the entire population of Austin MN.
  • The drummer boy is??16 feet tall, making him almost??3 people high.
  • We built the drummer boy ourselves using corrugated plastic sheets and over 1,400 lights.
  • Each singing tree has??750 lights,??which is about double an average indoor Christmas tree.
  • We start programming the show typically in March for the following year, taking about 8 months to create.
  • During a??typical??holiday season, the full display will run almost 950 times.
  • This entire display only uses the equivalent electricity of fifteen 100-watt light bulbs thanks to LED (Light Emitting Diode) technology.
  • We have nearly all of the Christmas Lights put up??by the week after Halloween??(thanks to Minnesota winters!)
